We are delighted to partner with Rock Trust as our Edinburgh charity partner for 2024/25.
Rock Trust are Scotland’s youth homelessness charity supporting young people aged 16-25 who are, or are at risk of, homelessness. We have been supporting young people in Edinburgh since 1991 and work with almost 1,000 young people each year supporting them with housing, education and employment advice, and health and wellbeing support as well as crisis support and emergency intervention. We also work with policy makers, commissioners and practitioners to understand the issues and take action.
Last year, over 8,000 young people were affected by homelessness in Scotland. In Edinburgh, there was a 10% increase on the year before and the City of Edinburgh Council has now declared a housing emergency. The cost-of-living crisis is pushing families and young people to crisis point. Despite this, we have ambitious plans for how to turn the tide on Scotland’s youth homelessness crisis and funds raised through this partnership will make a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable young people in Scotland.
