Professor Selina Wray is a Professor of Molecular Neuroscience in the Department of Neurodegenerative Disease, UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology. The research within Selina’s group is focussed on understanding why brain cells die in Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia using patient-derived stem cell models. The aim is to better understand the earliest changes that happen in a brain with dementia to develop life-changing treatments. Selina has won numerous awards, including the 2014 Red Magazine Woman of the Year award (Pioneer category), the 2018 Alzheimer’s Research UK David Hague Investigator of the Year award and the 2024 International Suffrage Science Life Sciences award.
